When the test is required or recommended
- Passive and low-energy houses — n50 ≤ 0.6 / 1.0 1/h required for certification
- Subsidy programmes (Czech "Zelená úsporám") — measurement may be required
- Warranty claims — proof of design parameters not being met
- Pre-renovation — baseline measurement for planning
